The Nature Conservancy of Indiana - Efroymson Conservation Center

Indianapolis, IN

$4,500,000

The Nature Conservancy of Indiana wanted a headquarters with a carbon footprint so small the building would be among the first to win LEED platinum certification. General contractor Wilhelm and Axis Architects delivered, using native materials and modern methods of capturing and conserving heat and water.  Wind turbines, geothermal heating and cooling, naturally lighted interior, a “green” roof and rainwater system are energy-stingy.  The outside is clad in low-maintenance Indiana limestone, recycled brick and cement board siding.
