Indiana University Simon Hall

Bloomington, IN

$50,000,000

The challenge: create a modern research building that blends with surrounding gothic architecture.  The success: Simon Hall, the center of science research at Indiana University.  Wilhelm was general contractor, creating facilities to study nucleotides in chromosomes (Genomics), the analysis of proteins (Proteomics) and Biochemistry and Biophysics.  Simon Hall is clad in smooth, buff cut limestone pieces that include window heads, sills and jambs, quoins and accent stones.  Wilhelm’s Simon Hall exterior won Masonry Construction magazine’s Best Institutional Project.
