Meet the 2014 summer interns: Clay Langebartels
Clay Langebartels returns to Wilhelm as a senior at Ball State University for his second internship with Wilhelm Construction. This summer, Clay will again be performing the Central Indiana Alliance (CIA) Craft Productivity Study at Eli Lilly & Co. in Indianapolis.
During the study, Clay will be in the field with crews on a number of different sites tracking data and taking notes on productivity. In mid-June, he will wrap-up the study and be assigned to either an ongoing project providing office engineering support, or working with the estimating department, possibly both.
“I hope to grow in my knowledge of construction practices and communication skills while performing the productivity study by observing and talking with the tradespeople at each jobsite. I have little experience in estimating, so I would like to experience bid day and gain a better knowledge of what all goes into bidding…I am excited to be back at Wilhelm and can’t wait to put what I’ve learned in my classes into practice and expand my knowledge about the construction industry!”
