Carmel Water Treatment Plant
City of Carmel
The Carmel Water Treatment Plant’s main initiative is to make sure that Carmel’s ground water is safe for drinking. The plant softens the water, removes iron and adds chlorine and fluoride.
Wilhelm served as general contractor for this project constructing buildings and tanks to filter ground water for distribution in the drinking water supply system. This new plant was the first in the state to use geothermal energy from treated water.
