Nature Conservancy Headquarters
The Nature Conservancy
The Nature Conservancy of Indiana wanted a headquarters with a carbon footprint so small that the building would be among the first to achieve LEED Platinum Certification, a recognition earned in 2012.
Wilhelm served as general contractor and used native materials and modern methods of capturing and conserving heat and water. Wind turbines, geothermal heating and cooling, a naturally-lit interior, a green roof and rainwater system all work together to conserve energy. The exterior is clad in low-maintenance Indiana limestone, recycled brick and cement board siding.
