Equally at home on the ground, 40 stories high in the clouds, or 250 feet below the surface, Wilhelm builds public and private sector projects every day for general construction engagements. We house top talent with tenured experience and a robust breadth of services with the delivery flexibility to meet any construction need.
It all began in 1923 when a man offered to help build a porch for his neighbor. Having no idea at that time that he was laying the groundwork for creating one of the Midwest’s largest general contracting firms, Francis Wilhelm simply did what needed to be done: determined the project scope, procured the materials, rounded up people to help, and provided the necessary tools and ingenuity to complete the job. Nearly a century later, Wilhelm’s general contracting services help shape communities and meet the construction demands of global clients working on life-changing initiatives.
Wilhelm’s in-house estimating and self-perform capabilities enable us to quickly and accurately provide cost-competitive projects to clients. Our employees are experienced in every phase of preconstruction and construction, understanding aspects from below grade foundations to the very tip-top of skyscrapers.
Our deeply-rooted relationships with owners, designers, subcontractors and suppliers in the Architect, Engineering, construction (AEC) industry and our commitment to giving back to strengthen our communities are at the core of what we do every day.
The combination of unmatched experience and services are what set Wilhelm apart in the general contracting industry. Understanding clients and projects are unique; solutions are custom-tailored to meet individual goals. Wilhelm has the capabilities to cover the full gamut of project delivery from start to finish.
