The James T. Morris Arena at Indiana University Indianapolis is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose athletic facility currently under development. Named in honor of the late James T. Morris, a distinguished civic leader and IU alumnus, this $110 million project is scheduled for completion in late 2026. The arena will serve as a hub for athletic events and community gatherings, further strengthening IU Indianapolis’s commitment to fostering a dynamic and vibrant campus.

The facility will span approximately 130,000 SF and include a primary event space with a seating capacity of 4,500. A portion of the seating will be retractable, allowing the arena to host a wide range of events, from basketball and volleyball to community activities and large-scale gatherings. In addition to the event space, the arena will feature locker rooms, training facilities, and office spaces for both IU Indianapolis Athletics and USA Track & Field.
