Amazon Warehouse DKY6

Louisville, KY

Developed by Poe Companies, the intended use for this 26-acre site will be supporting a fleet of electric vans with the potential to be charged using solar technology. In association with an affiliated company, Wilhelm supported the construction management of this project.

This 128,000 SF warehouse receives, sorts, and locally disperses packages via delivery vans. There is also 14,000 SF of office space within the facility. The parking lot was equipped with an underground labyrinth of electricity and data designed to charge and track the fully electric fleet. Solar panels were also added to the roof of the warehouse, which were used to enable the charging stations. This vastly advanced the company’s goal to reduce its carbon footprint.

Wilhelm designed, poured, and installed 66 insulated tilt-wall panels that weighed 75,000 lbs. per panel and were 27’ x 44’ in size.
