IPS Crispus Attucks Expansion

F.A. Wilhelm Construction is serving as Construction Manager for the new Crispus Attucks Health and Wellness Center project in Indianapolis. The initiative includes construction of a new, approximately 56,300-square-foot building addition designed to expand health and wellness programs for students and the community. The project scope also includes replacement of the existing school’s central utility plant mechanical equipment to both support the new addition and modernize aging infrastructure, along with a dynamic new atrium featuring experimental graphic installations. Site improvements include a northwest parking lot expansion, upgraded utilities, and all associated site work for the addition. Additional scope includes milling and resurfacing of the south parking lot, improving the north vehicle entry, and enhancing pedestrian access and walkability across the campus.

Interior renovations will further modernize key academic and athletic spaces, including upgrades to electrical infrastructure and full replacement of the building’s BAS and control systems. The existing gymnasium will receive new motorized bleachers, and classroom renovations will enhance the Health Science and Computer Academy learning environments. Together, these improvements will create a comprehensive health, wellness, and education hub that supports both Crispus Attucks students and the broader Indianapolis community.
