JW Marriott Hotel & Parking Garage
Indianapolis, IN
The JW Marriott Indianapolis is an iconic showcase hotel conveniently situated Downtown in the Circle City and connected to the area’s many attractions. Wilhelm constructed the massive concrete superstructure for this 34-story facility. Also included in the work are two levels of below-grade parking and a two-story podium containing the ballroom, restaurants, lobby and back-of-house functions.
Wilhelm began the project by pouring the largest hotel foundation in Indianapolis history. A total of 7,642 CY of concrete composes the foundation which was placed in two pours. The first pour (September 2008) consisted of 1,714 CY of concrete on a third of the mat. The second pour (October 2008) represented one of the largest individual mats ever poured in Indiana – crews poured 5,928 CY of concrete in just 18 1/2 hours.
Wilhelm also executed the demolition and various masonry scopes on this project.
