Marion County Assessment & Intervention Center
Indianapolis, IN
The Assessment and Intervention Center (AIC) provides Hoosier’s assistance navigating mental health, addiction, homelessness and other socio-economic issues influencing an individual’s overall health and well-being. The $10M facility plays a crucial role in Indianapolis’ widespread effort to revamp the city’s criminal justice system. Construction on the 37,000 SF facility was completed in December 2020. Wilhelm was the Design-Build manager for this project.
The center provides a safe place for individuals experiencing crisis or intoxication to be moved from a jail or emergency room to the AIC in coordination with the Indianapolis Criminal Justice Center, Indy PD MCAT, and community stakeholders. The AIC is equipped to perform minor medical support by working through their immediate needs. Eskenazi Health provides trained counselors and caregivers to support the AIC.
