Wilhelm was charged with replacing the Wade Utility Plant’s chiller #7 with a new 5000 Ton chiller. The demands on the campus chilled water system required at 5000 Ton chiller, which is the largest commercially available chiller on the market. Due to the growing campus demand and stewardship of the university for capital money, replacing one of the ageing chillers with a much larger chiller was the most economical way to increase capacity and maintain reliability of the campus chilled water systems.

As the CMc, Wilhelm was involved early in the detail design phase of the project. Our team provided constructability design reviews and procurement services for the new chiller, medium voltage electrical gear and transformer. Wilhelm closely collaborated with the Wade Utility Engineering Staff and the university’s engineering partner (KFI Engineers) to offer a GMP to provide the major equipment and construction services for the execution of the complete scope of work.
